Have a friend in Montana at present mares are foaling. All mares stopped two days before until the big shake then resumed birthing. Two days before horses out in pasture where nervous. She thought they were going nuts or a mountain lion was around. No there must have been small tremors the animals felt. Scary!

All the more reason to know people who live East of the Cascades, assuming you can get there. Folks, stock up on water, extra food, cooking means, etc. If it ain’t an earthquake it’s . . .

After going thru a rather mild hurricane Hugo in SC, I made a decision to relocate to the mountains. We relocated in 1991, 2 years after Hugo. I haven’t regretted the move. If I were in a similar situation in the NW, I’d find a way to live elsewhere.

Very interesting article. Actually fascinating. Both my sons live on the west coast right in line with the Cascadia.
