At LEAST 1.5 Million Non-citizens Receive Food Stamps
and many more receive housing, medical and other handouts...
A lot of people have been talking about November 1st — the date SNAP benefits (food stamps) could be cut off if Congress doesn’t pass a budget.
The Democrats and Republicans can’t agree on how to spend your money, and millions of people across America are waiting to see if those cards still work at the grocery store.
Here in Appalachia, you can tell when the SNAP deposits hit. Walmart, Dollar General, and the local grocery stores are packed full. For that first week of the month, you’ll see people loading up carts, filling freezers, and restocking everything at once. Not everyone abuses the system — some are genuinely struggling. But plenty have made it their career.
Generational welfare isn’t just a talking point — it’s real.
There are families where Grandma was on food stamps, Mom’s on food stamps, and now the kids are growing up expecting the same. They know the system, they know the paperwork, and they teach it to the next generation. For too many, government dependence has replaced hard work.
Now before anyone loses their mind — yes, I’ve been there.
About 20 years ago, I was out of work and on food stamps for about six months. I got $122 a month back when they were actual paper stamps, not cards. I was embarrassed to use them. I didn’t want to stay on it. I got back to work and never looked back. The problem is, a lot of folks never leave the system once they get on it.
💰 Who’s Really Getting the Benefits?
We keep hearing that “illegals can’t get benefits.”
That’s technically what the law says — but that’s not what’s really happening.
According to the Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC), about 1.5 million non-citizens are getting SNAP benefits — that’s food stamps paid for by U.S. taxpayers. Add in the kids living in those households and the number goes up even higher.

And that’s not all.
The Congressional Research Service confirms that non-citizens in mixed-status households can receive public housing assistance, meaning taxpayer-funded housing.

The Migration Policy Institute also shows that immigrants — both legal and some with “special status” — get a variety of public benefits.

So while politicians keep saying “they can’t get benefits,” the data says otherwise.
Through loopholes, exceptions, and mixed-status rules, billions in taxpayer money are being funneled to people who aren’t even citizens.
🇺🇸 America First… Or Everyone First?
Meanwhile, the U.S. keeps sending billions overseas — to Israel, Ukraine, Argentina, and who knows where else — while our roads crumble, schools fail, and grocery bills skyrocket. We’ve got people here who can’t afford to eat or heat their homes, and our politicians are writing checks for countries that will never pay us back.
If our leaders really cared about the American people, they’d:
Fix our infrastructure before funding foreign wars.
Stop bringing in people who can’t support themselves.
Require immigrants to prove they can be self-sufficient before stepping foot here.
And above all, keep every dollar of U.S. taxpayer money right here at home.
🧨 What Happens If SNAP Really Stops?
If the government shutdown drags on and SNAP benefits do stop, things could get ugly — especially in the big cities.
When millions of people who rely on government aid suddenly can’t buy food, you’re looking at potential unrest, looting, theft, and chaos. Maybe not so much here in rural Appalachia, but in major urban areas, it could turn into a serious problem fast.
This is what happens when a society becomes dependent on handouts instead of hard work — when generations are taught that the government will always take care of them.
💬 What Do You Think?
Will they actually let SNAP stop on November 1st, or will they make a last-minute deal to keep the money flowing?
And should taxpayer-funded programs go to non-citizens at all?
Let me know what you think in the comments.

Great article and you are right!! Some need the help but most are abusing the system. If the lazy free loaders would get off their ass and work for a living our taxes would go down and no one would worry about getting government (taxpayer) funding. Support yourself and your family; don’t expect everyone to do it for you. These entitlement programs need to go away.
