I enjoyed both videos. I do think prepping is fun. First I think of it as preparing for non specific issues like big snow storms where we can't get to the town for groceries for a week, Where the power may be out for a while - we have experienced days where the power is gone. Alternative sources of electricity become important. I have a dual fuel generator that can power the whole place. I also have two 2000watt 2000 what hour Bluetti power stations that can be charged with the 600 watt solar panels or plugged in to the generator or wall when the power is on. I have had an e-bike that can take me to town and back (15 mile round trip) 2 timers before recharging. Bonus: it is great fun to ride. We do raised bed kitchen gardens. I have a lifetime of camping gear and don't need most of the prepping stuff sold commercially anymore. It is all situational for each person and family. Some may be just starting and need a lot of things and need to be learning skills and just what to have on hand. That is where your work is so valuable I have your books and have watched you for years. 2 other people I watch are Appalachian Homestead with Patara, a real common sense prepper who advocates buying just a little bit of extra every week for those that don't have much extra money. The other is Survival Lilly for a perspective from Europe. Long term Food storage. Most of our food preps are just bought from stores and rotated and replaced. But we do have a 3 month set of boxed from My Patriot Supply - at our age that would be enough for both of us. But, that is enough and are really for hard times when other food is not available. We tried some of the meals and they are OK. I would not want to eat just those day in and out unless there was no choice.
One other thing we have are Faraday bags for our computers and backup drives and other electronics. I really suggest people get some. An EMP could take it all out. Small bags for cell phones can stop the spying on you where ever you go. Also small ones can protect modern car keys for an EMP. Keep the second set in one. Digital cameras and radios should be in a bag too.
