Most of your garden tools go away if you use the deep mulch method for gardening. (Search 'Ruth Stout Gardening'. Minimal weeding, no til, no watering. Been using this for almost 20 years and I'll never go back to bare-dirt gardening. Instead of using hay or straw, consider wood chips from your local tree service. Cheaper by the ton and better coverage. Hay mulch compacted on my asparagus, but chips work as well and don't compact.
I only need a small hand spade and a dibble. Pretty much it. Oh, and a cattle panel for a trellis for beans, cukes and other climbing stuff. Tomatoes don't need cages as the mulch keeps the fruit high and dry so no rot.

My husband read Ruth's book many years ago.We have managed to grow tons of food with this method .So much less work.
